The Esplanade Hotel Fremantle by Rydges is set to initiate a phased refurbishment program aimed at enhancing our conference and guest facilities while maintaining the unique character of our historic hotel. The refurbishment will begin in July and is expected to continue until mid-2027. Throughout this period, the hotel will remain fully operational, with the refurbishment works meticulously scheduled to minimize any disruption to guests and events. The initial phase will focus on the renovation of the historic Island Suite, followed by the Atrium Garden Restaurant and select event spaces on the ground floor. Upon completion, guests will benefit from refreshed updates across Level One, the ground floor areas, selected heritage sections, the Atrium Garden Restaurant, and key conference and event venues. A significant upgrade to the audio-visual systems, featuring LED walls and improved lighting capabilities, will further enhance the hotel’s status as Fremantle’s premier venue for conferences, events, and celebrations. The refurbishment works will occur from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The following restaurants will remain operational: All, Island Suite (replacing AGR as noted below), Marine Lounge Bar, Ball and Chain, and Pool Bar, which will not be affected. The Atrium Garden Restaurant is scheduled for refurbishment from mid-February to mid-July 2027, during which breakfast will be served in the Island Suite on Level One. The Reception and Lobby will also undergo refurbishment, with alternative spaces utilized during this time. The hotel will continue to operate fully, providing access to all facilities. Hoarding and signage will be installed to cover any areas undergoing work in the public spaces. While minimal structural changes are planned, there may be some noise disturbances from Monday to Friday between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Currently, no room upgrades are included in the scope of this refurbishment.
